Cyxtera Announces New Facility in Amsterdam and Expanded CXD Availability in Europe
Cyxtera global footprint grows to 2.9 million square feet and 248 MW
As part of our ongoing investments to meet growing customer and market demand, Cyxtera is expanding our European data center presence with the addition of a new facility in Amsterdam. The Amsterdam facility, AMS1, located in Polanen Park, will provide 29,000 square feet of space and 3 megawatts of power.
The increased need for robust interconnection capabilities in the region is fueling customer demand for well-connected, secure, enterprise-grade colocation infrastructure solutions. Given its proximity to several key undersea cable landing stations and three of the largest Internet exchanges in the world, The Netherlands is among the most connected countries and one of the most advanced data center markets in Europe. Due to the exceptional high network density of the Amsterdam market, customers deploying in AMS1 will be able to reach 80% of Europe within 50 milliseconds or less.
Cyxtera is also pleased to announce plans to deploy our innovative CXD On-Demand Colocation platform in AMS1 and our Frankfurt campuses. This will bring on-demand interconnection and on-demand dedicated infrastructure to enterprises deploying in northern Europe.
